Yesterday was my grandmother's funeral. It wasn't the sad affair that I was expecting. Instead of it feeling like a horrible thing I felt more at peace and happy that my grandmother, who lived a long and full life, was now back home in heaven and also reunited with her husband. A lot of my cousin's were saying that which is probably what turned my thinking around. It was time for her to go because she was ready. At 94 she had lead a full life and was surrounded by family. Something I wanted to share with you about my family is that it is a big one. I am very proud to be apart of it.
My grandmother and grandfather had 12 children which from then until now have produced 38 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; 72 great-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-great-grandchildren. I am a grandchild.
Thank you to everyone who has commented on my blog about the passing of my grandmother. Means a lot <3
Here is something interesting I found on a dumpster down 6th street that I wanted to share with you.

Indeed.
love the dumpster picture. Your grandma seemed to live as long as my great grandmother with a large family as well. We were very close so I understand the pain. It was the same with both my great grandparents passing away, when my grandpa went it was so depressing the funeral, and when my grandmother followed him it was so peaceful because she was suffering a lot and so depressed without my grandpa
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a good full life your grandmother had lived. She sounds like an amazing lady. The beauty of it is remembering how wonderful she is.
ReplyDelete@La Cabrona It was time for her. I actually never met my grandfather because he died a few months before I was born. She has been without him for 30 years. I bet it was a wonderful homecoming.
ReplyDelete@Abby Yes, she was definitely the glue that held our family together.
sometimes we see things where we least expect it! good find!
